XPS Viewer Online – Open XPS and OXPS Files Without Windows XPS Viewer

An XPS file (or OXPS, its newer form) is a document saved with Windows' "print to file" format — invoices, bank statements, forms and reports often arrive this way. Newer Windows computers don't include XPS Viewer any more, and Macs and phones never did. Open yours below.

No file handy?

What you get

  • Every page as it was printed — text, tables, pictures, colours and lines — drawn from the document itself, so it stays sharp when you zoom in.
  • Save as PDF: one click opens your browser's print window at the document's own page size; choose Save as PDF.
  • Copy text or download it as a .txt file — page by page, in reading order.
  • Several documents in one file are shown one after another, marked in the page list.

Private by design

XPS files are often statements, payslips or contracts. This page reads the file on your device and never uploads it. Pages are shown as pictures, so nothing inside the document can run or contact the internet.

Good to know

  • Works in Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on Windows, Mac, ChromeOS, iPhone and Android.
  • Very large documents (hundreds of pages) open fine; pages are drawn as you scroll to them.
  • A few rare features — HD Photo (.wdp) pictures and "visual brush" fills — can't be shown in a browser. When a page has one, a small note says so on that page.
  • Want the file back as a Word document? XPS keeps the look of a page, not editable paragraphs — save as PDF, then open the PDF in Word.
