VCF Viewer – Open vCard Contact Files Online (No Upload)
A .vcf file (vCard) holds one or more contacts — names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, birthdays. Phones and email apps create them when you share or export contacts. Open yours below to see everything inside, even on a computer with no contacts app.
What you'll see
- Every contact in a table: name, all phone numbers and emails with their labels (mobile, work, home…), company, job title and birthday. Address, website and notes go into the Excel/CSV download.
- Search by name, company, email or any part of a phone number.
- Duplicates found for you. The same person saved twice — same phone number written differently, or the same email — is merged into one row. Untick Merge to see the original list.
- Any language. Accents, Vietnamese, Chinese, Cyrillic and other scripts display correctly, including old phone exports that use "quoted-printable" encoding.
It reads vCard 2.1, 3.0 and 4.0 — the formats used by iPhone and Mac Contacts, Google Contacts, Android, Outlook and older phones. Contact photos are skipped.
Where .vcf files come from
- iPhone or Mac: Contacts › select contacts › Share or File › Export › Export vCard.
- Google Contacts: select contacts › Export › vCard.
- Android: Contacts › Settings › Export to a .vcf file.
- Outlook: forwarding a contact "as a business card" attaches a .vcf.
Not a contacts file?
The .vcf extension is also used by genetics labs for Variant Call Format files (DNA sequencing results). Those aren't contacts; the viewer tells you if you open one. They need a genomics tool such as IGV or bcftools.
Common questions
Is my address book uploaded? No. The file is read by your browser on your device. Contacts are personal data — that's why nothing is sent anywhere.
I just want the contacts on my phone. You don't need a converter: email the .vcf to yourself and open it on the iPhone (it offers Add All Contacts), or import it at contacts.google.com › Import for Android.
Outlook only added one contact. Outlook usually imports just the first contact from a file that holds many. Save the list as CSV here and use Outlook's Import from another program or file › Comma Separated Values instead.
